Whether we can believe it or not, it has been ten years since #BlackLivesMatter was first used on social media platforms, exclaimed by millions of peaceful protestors, and used as a rallying cry for social justice. From July 2013, Black Lives Matter, the simple, yet powerful message, has become a global movement that is even more relevant today. Let’s not be deterred or discouraged but move forward in unity!

Music is inspirational. It inspires us to overcome obstacles, do our best work and even take a moment to relax, recharge and rise! What will relax and recharge you to build generational wealth? How about a playlist!

On this Juneteenth, we not only celebrate, but we also ACTIVATE our allies, our communities, and our nation! Although reparations will address history, more immediate change is possible if this day of remembrance is seen as a calling card for action!

Before it was a parade, Pride was a fight for justice! Countless pieces of legislation have passed and are pending to revoke LGBTQ+ rights. Allies, let’s respond!

Happy Father’s Day! Today is the day to shower dads with love, spend time together and create memories. As the largest Black-owned bank, we have a message to our dads who make the world a brighter place!

For Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s focus on improving Black mental health. As the largest Black owned bank in the country, our hope in highlighting this topic is to further break the stigma and provide actionable steps to put better Black mental health into practice.

OneUnited Bank is sponsoring the 13th annual financial literacy contest for youth between the ages of 8 – 12 years old. Simply either write and submit a 250-word essay (250 words not 250 characters) or create and submit an art project (PDF only) about what you learned from the book “I Got Bank!” (or from another financial literacy book available in your library or home) and how you can use what you learned in your life or the life of your family.
