Thanks … We Won!

In November 2012, OneUnited Bank won a $415,000 award from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bank Enterprise Award (BEA) program for our community development lending. This marks the 10th time we received this award. We owe this honor to your support.

Many don’t realize that deposit dollars are used for lending. So if you are a deposit customer, your deposits matter! If you’re a loan customer or if you “like” us on Facebook or recommend us to friends, your support matters too!

With your support, we lent over $100,000,000 in 2011 and 2012 with over 80% going to low to moderate income communities. We support affordable housing, nonprofits and small businesses. We offer affordable services such as free accounts for seniors and youth. And we have the best technology available including online banking, mobile banking and bill pay.

Yet our biggest achievement is the way we touch the lives of the communities we serve. We have conducted many financial literacy workshops attended by over 1,000 children and adults and given away over 3,000 “I Got Bank” books to teach financial literacy to urban youth.

We appreciate your deposits, your loan relationship and your support … and will continue to work hard to meet the needs of the communities we serve.

When we win, our community wins too!
