Answer: With Tap to Pay, you can pay in seconds. It’s much faster than cash or inserting a card. It’s also easy since it only takes a simple tap. And it’s secure. Each Tap to Pay transaction is accompanied by a one-time code that protects your payment information.
Question: Is a contactless card secure?
Answer: Yes, contactless cards are secure. Each Tap to Pay transaction is accompanied by a one-time code that protects your payment information. To make a payment, your contactless card must be placed within 1-2 inches of the Contactless Symbol located on the checkout terminal for the sale to take place (so you can’t pay accidentally). And even if you tap twice, you won’t be charged twice.
Question: Where is my account number or name on the card?
Answer: Your account number and name is on the back of the Tap to Pay Card. The account number is easier to read and less visible than the previous embossed image on the front of the card.
Question: Can contactless cards be inserted or swiped?
Answer: Yes. If a terminal does not accept contactless payments, you can insert or swipe your Tap to Pay Visa Debit Card.
Question: How close does my card need to be to a contactless terminal to make a payment?
Answer: Very close. To make a payment, your contactless card must be placed within 1-2 inches of the Contactless Symbol located on the checkout terminal for the sale to take place (so you can’t pay accidentally).
Question: Can I still get a “regular” Visa Debit Card?
Answer: OneUnited Bank only offers Tap to Pay Visa Debit Cards. We believe that once you experience the convenience of a contactless card, you will not want to return to a “regular” debit card.
