Question: What is the King Visa Debit Card?

Answer: The King Visa Debit Card is the first card introduced in our Royalty Campaign. We agree with James Baldwin, “Our crown has been bought and paid for. All we have to do is wear it.” We also agree with Kendrick Lamar that royalty is in our DNA.

They say successful African dynasties are a myth and we lost our strength when we were torn from our heritage. Yet we know a new generation of Kings and Queens in America are claiming their thrones. From scientists to activists, from educators to entertainers. We’re changing the world! We want to unleash the strength in you. #WearYourCrown and #MakeBlackHistory!

Question: How does the King Card help the Black community?

Answer: The King Visa Debit Card along with our other unapologetically Black cards including Amir, Lady Liberty and Doonie, support the #BankBlack and #BuyBlack Movement and show the world the power of our $1.2 trillion in annual spending. OneUnited Bank is the largest Black owned bank in the country and the first Black owned internet Bank. We offer second chance checking for people with ChexSystems records and our UNITY Visa Secured Credit Card helps rebuild credit. We also focus on financial literacy with our online Financial Education Center and our annual youth I Got Bank Financial Literacy & Art Contest. We also support organizations that support social justice including #BlackLivesMatter, the ACLU, BMe Community and others.

Question: Does the King represent a specific African country?

Answer: The King symbolizes the royalty in our DNA from the entire African diaspora, the continued fight for justice, the power of our treasure, and the $1.2 trillion we spend annually. The design, which celebrates Black men, both young and adults, symbolizes our message… #BlackMoneyMatters #BlackLivesMatter.
